Taube Museum of Art Receives Arts Grant

In support of their efforts to provide arts programming in their community, the Taube Museum of Art applied for and was awarded a $7,575 Institutional Support grant by the North Dakota Council on the Arts.

The Taube Museum of Art was among 55 recipients of Institutional Support funding. The Institutional Support program is designed to benefit artists, arts organizations, and the general public. The program provides general support for qualifying arts and cultural organizations that have proven they have strong management and leadership, quality artistic programming and services, and are an important part of the arts infrastructure in their communities. A total of $419,594 was awarded during this grant round.

This grant will be used to assist us in presenting nationally recognized visual artists work, as well as from North Dakota and the surrounding region. With the grant funding we receive we are able to achieve artistic quality by following our mission, which is to enrich lives through the visual arts. Our museum promotes local and regional artists with quality artwork and with a variety of challenging media. In addition, the gallery seeks to also attract national and international artists in order to broaden the artistic interest in the community.

“The Taube Museum of Art is appreciative of the grant from the North Dakota Council of the Arts in support of our continued programming,” says Nancy F. Walter, Executive Director “During this difficult economic time for the arts these funds will help stretch our donor dollars.”

The organization for the Taube Museum of Art has been in operation since 1971. It has grown tremendously over the years due to support from the North Dakota Council of the Arts and community involvement. We are able to offer eight children’s programs, approximately fifteen diversified artist exhibitions each year, and a variety of fundraisers, including Artfest and the Holiday Tour of Homes, as well as community awareness events throughout the year.

The North Dakota Council on the Arts is the state agency responsible for the support and development of the arts throughout North Dakota, and is funded by the state legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.

For more information on this and other grant programs, visit the North Dakota Council on the Arts web site at www.nd.gov/arts or contact NDCA directly at jwebb@nd.gov or 701-328-7590.
