Bringing “Art
to Life”
Taube Museum of Art is awarded $6,390!
(Minot, ND) The Taube Museum of Art
has been awarded a grant of $6,390 from the North Dakota Council on the
Arts.
The grant will be used to bring
“art to life” in the community. Gallery events are designed to expose
people to a variety of artistic media and talents, to promote active
participation, and to increase awareness of the visual arts in the Minot
community. Artfest, Tour of Homes, and the Cookie Walk are examples of
these events.
This grant will allow the museum to
continue following its mission, to enrich lives through the visual
arts, by offering diverse art opportunities for all ages and
cultures. The museum continues to encourage public understanding of the
arts by exhibiting a variety of art forms and artists from diverse
cultures, and challenging the public’s perception of the art.
This funding will support a portion
of the museum’s basic operating expenses. Approximately 930 student and
adult artists have participated in exhibits at the museum and over
52,000 individuals have been directly involved as participants or
audience members in the museum’s many programs.
This project is supported in part by
a grant from the North Dakota Council on the Arts, which receives
funding from the state legislature and the National Endowment for the
Arts.
Can Cows Be Purple?
Paint a Purple Cow
Art Education Program receives $1,000 Grant!
(Minot, ND) The Taube Museum of Art
Education Program was awarded a $1000.00 grant from the Target
Foundation. These funds will be used to continue the Paint a Purple
Cow Program.
The Paint a Purple Cow
program is specifically designed for children enrolled in daycares,
after school programs and home schools. It is a monthly program, which
runs annually. The children have an opportunity to view the current
exhibit, and then participate in a related hands-on art activity.
Funding from this grant will allow
the Taube Museum of Art to follow our mission, to enrich lives
through the visual arts, and will provide area children with a
rewarding art experience.
Gallery on Wheels
Expansion
Taube Museum of Art Education Program
receives $2,000 Grant!
(Minot, ND) The Taube Museum of Art
Education Program was awarded a $2000.00 grant from the Minot Endowment
Fund administered by the North Dakota Community Foundation. These funds
will be used to expand the Gallery on Wheels Program.
The Gallery on Wheels program
provides area children with a unique art experience. The purpose of the
program is to develop an awareness and appreciation for the artists in
our society and expose children to various art materials and techniques.
Gallery on Wheels presenters visit elementary schools in Minot
and the surrounding area. They share selections from the Taube Museum of
Art permanent collection, and educate them on art techniques, methods
and history. A related hands-on art lesson follows each presentation.
Funding from this grant will allow
the Taube Museum of Art to follow our mission, to enrich lives
through the visual arts, and will provide area children with a
rewarding art experience.
